Deadman was a nagoya kei act fronted by Japanese musician Mako. Founded in 2000, the band gained notoriety as one of the developers of the nagoya keisubgenre of visual kei (nagoya is often seen to be a "darker" version of visual kei, having its regional focus in Nagoya, Japan). Under Mako, who formerly played with another nagoya act called Kein, Deadman quickly became known for its heavily melancholic lyrical themes, with the music itself touching on alternative rockin sound.
